“For A Happy Philippines!” Me Thinking Of PH Presidentiable’s Leadership & Ed Garcia Tinkering With The Qualifications Of BBM As Candidate For President. But First Of All, I Ask: “How Do We Make Agriculture Happy?”

Born to be a pilosopo (“thinkerer,” my concocted definition), I find I have to disagree with human rights advocate & INQ columnist Ed Garcia when he writes against voting for Bongbong Marcos (BBM) as President of our country. He has 10 reasons – after examining, I say none of those reasons is valid!

Yes, I am a full-blooded Ilocano (FBI), and BBM’s father PH President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos was an FBI too – and yes, I say, “There is a Solid North” when it comes to voting for the presidency. But take note: BBM is only half-Ilocano. His mother, Imelda Romualdez, is Bisaya; are we FBIs going to vote for BBM because he has some Ilocano blood? Not necessarily.

Mr Garcia says (10 Feb 2022, “Why Marcos Jr Is Unfit For The Presidency,” Opinion, Inquirer.net):

Leadership is about character. It involves integrity, honesty, hard work, competence, a track record of service to others – essential ingredients for every candidate who aspires to become president of a country.

That is his first paragraph in his INQ column; unfortunately, in the entire article, Mr Garcia is 2 times awfully wrong! Once, about Presidency, and twice, about Leadership.

I say the President must have Vision; and he must have Leadership to move his country to agree to the Mission and carry out the fulfilment of that Vision.

To me, that alluring & beautiful Vision is: “For A Happy Philippines!”

That Vision is translated into 5 “Happy” issues:

1. Soils
2. Foods
3. Air
4. Environment
5. Economics.

1. Happy Soils

With principles of Organic Agriculture (OA) properly applied on them, soils in each farm or garden (FoG) in the Philippines will have their natural richness, with organisms big & small so that they become quite fertile and produce the Wealth of the Earth.

2. Happy Foods

Since the soils are completely healthy in those millions of hectares of FoG, the crops grown and animals raised in them will yield 100% healthy foods! Results? Bodies beautiful, everyone happy.

3. Happy Air

Since there are no agricultural chemicals sprayed anywhere in the 7000 islands, the air will be 100% healthy!

4. Happy Environment

Since there are no chemical fertilizers and chemical pesticides applied, there are no greenhouse gases coming from anywhere going up to the Earth’s atmosphere; the environment in the Philippine islands will be calmer – the bad weathers tamed.

5. Happy Economics

Since farming will be natural and cheaper, this will translate into richer soils, richer farmers, richer bodies of Filipinos, richer pockets of dealers of foods raw or processed, and richer owners of eating places. Since the Philippines will become the healthiest country in the world, millions of tourists will happily flock the islands, bringing untold happiness!

Whoever is the presidential candidate who will espouse this Vision of “Happy Isles, Philippines!” I will espouse that one, copywriting much with much more pleasure!@517
